ARC International, a world leader in configurable processor technology, has established a multimedia development center in St. Petersburg (Alarity SPb, Ltd), which complements ARC's existing centers in Cambridge and St. Albans, England, and Silicon Valley. We are looking for a Program and Product Manager to work in St. Petersburg. The candidate will be involved in research, development and testing in the areas of audio and video signals processing and compression. Key responsibilities:
- Participation in off-site management of remote third-party development teams, definition of the task, progress monitoring
- Audio/video codecs analysis on target hardware platform (performance measurements, complexity of porting/optimization, testing and certification aspects)
- Evaluation of source code quality (taken from partners and colleagues)
- Creation and review of statement of work and test plan documents
- Communication with colleagues and customers from USA and UK via e-mail and by phone in English, participating in conference calls |

Requirements (MUST):
- Understanding the multimedia fundamentals: audio and video compression and formats
- Familiarity with at least one DSP or RISC platform
- Management skills in commercial projects (not less than 5 team members, not less than 1 year), project planning skills (MS Project), experience of schedule tracking and monitoring
- Skills in communication with customer (understanding and formulating requirements, project risks estimation, etc.)
- High level of communicativeness (experience how to solve problematic situations in a team, making decisions, priorities and responsibilities definition)
- Good English skills (intensive e-mails exchange, writing reports, documentation, specifications, lots of verbal communication by phone with colleagues and customers)
- Self-coordinated and self-disciplined, accurate in planning of action items, precise in estimation and promises
Helpful qualifications:
- Experience of work in distributed or remote international team with off-site management
- Experience of end-user documentation development;
- Familiarity with Subversion, Bugzilla
- Programming skills (development in C and/or assembly language, scripting languages) |
